Day 25: Picture of my day

A Picture of your day:

When people see my calendar they ask me what I am counting down to? Can't a girl just cross out the boxes so she knows what day it is?

So.... here I am today. In all my glory. Yes I have a full time office job where I am supposed to look professional. But lucky for me it was "Jersey Day." Today happens to be the day that Real Salt Lake (the Soccer Team) is playing for the Concacaf Championship. Now if you don't know what any of that means, don't feel bad, all I know is that my company (xango) are supporters so we were strongly encouraged to wear their jerseys today.

You better believe I am took full advantage of "jersey day"

-woke up after 8:00am threw on my jersey (well Trevor's jersey, it's bigger and more comfortably accommodates my ever swelling belly.)

- of course baseball hats go with jerseys so therefore I didn't need to wash my hair (score!)

- I may have gone with the 3 day old makeup look (gross, I know and to be honest it is 4 day old).

Here is a picture of a wall of my cubicle, I look at it everyday.

You may have thought after reading this "jersey day! how can it get any better then that?!" I would definitely agree with you, but it did get better! How? Well did you know that today happens to be Administrative Professionals Day. For Real, it is... who knew there was such a day?? I didn't.

So the flowers were such a happy surprise on my desk.

Please make sure you thank your administrative professionals today.

Day 24: Something I wish I could change

A picture of something I wish I could change:

No I don't wish to change this picture, because it is probably the coolest family picture....ever.

So what is it I want to change, you ask? I want the fact that this pretty good size group only gets to be together like twice a year... if we are lucky.

- 8 live in St. George

- 6 live in Las Vegas

- 3 live in Colorado

- 4 live in Salt Lake

- 1 lives in Rexburg

- 1 lives in Columbia

Yes I realize it could be worse, we could all live further away. But all I want is for my entire family to live in the same place. Is that so much to ask?

I mean look at us, it's obvious we get along great. And if a disagreement arises, we of course settle our differences with a little Mexican Wrestling.

Day 23:

A picture of your favorite book:
I love this book. I just read it over and over again and it enriches my life every time I open it. If you don't know much about it, go here

Day 22: I wish I were better

A picture of something you wish you were better at:

Hmmmmm..... that's a toughie, there are a lot of things I wish I were better at, but I guess if I had to pick two I would say:

Driving.

I am a self proclaimed bad driver, I know it. Come on, I'm from Utah aren't we all bad drivers here?

Although, I have never gotten a ticket and I didn't miss a single point on my driving or parallel parking test. But however; I do follow two closely, I drive at least 10 miles above the speed limit (I'm just keeping up with the flow of traffic), I totally slow down to look any time I see flashing red lights, and like the picture above I may be guilty of one or all of those "distractions" on a regular basis.

So, that's why I let Trevor drive.

You're Welcome.

The second thing I wish I were better at:

Singing.

I even try and spare Trevor my tone deafness...sometimes....when I'm feeling particularly nice. But that is more than I can say for my poor unborn child. Unfortunately it's with me at all times which includes the car, the shower, making dinner, and other random parts of the day. I have read babies can hear while in the womb, I just hope for it's own sake it's muffled.

Day 20: I would love to travel

A picture of somewhere you would love to travel:
I am sure I may have mentioned it, but I LOVE TO TRAVEL.

By the time I was 19 I had backpacked Europe for a month and 2 years later moved to Paris for a semester to study French and Art. I would go anywhere anytime. I'm serious, even North Dakota as long as it meant I was going somewhere new... embarking on an adventure. Although I am up for anywhere, I hold a very special spot in my heart for Europe.

But of all the countries I have been to in Europe I have not been to:

SPAIN!

There is so much art, architecture, and culture in Spain. I mean just look at this church built, well designed and started, by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona:

Isn't this fantastic? It looks like it's melting!

The Sagrada Familia was first started in 1882, Goudi became involved with the project in 1883 and worked on it until his death in 1926, he left detailed instructions on how it should be completed and they are still working on it to this day.

Gaudi had a distinct "art nouveau" style that can be found in architecture all over Barcelona.

Perhaps this was an inspiration on Dr. Seuss's style?

Also home to Madrid Spain is the fascinating piece by Hieronymus Bosch The Garden of Earthly Delights.

There are a few works of art that I could stand in front of for hours and feel like I just got a taste of the piece, and this may very well be on the top of that list.

It is an absolutely incredible piece, a triptych; with the left panel depicting Adam and Eve, the center is basically mortality, and the last panel illustrates damnation according to Bosch.

When you first look at this do not be alarmed, as it has a bit of a repulsive "this isn't normal" feel to it. But give it a chance, start looking at the details and it will be hard to stop.

The Mosque of Cordoba:

Breathtaking isn't it?

I believe Guernica by Picasso is also breathtaking, but perhaps in a slightly different way.
Spain houses an impressive collection of art from the great Picasso to other incredible Spanish artists like Velazquez and Goya there are many "MUST SEES!"

Another place I would love to go to with Trevor is back to where he served his mission:

Vanuatu

South Pacific

I guess if I have to I'll go. :)
